Muvva-Nritya Raaga Nigamam is an association established for the promotion of Indian Classical Dance since 2003. Founded by Dr. Hima Bindu Kanoj, the institute has expanded its offerings to include classical dance classes, training, dance education, performance delivery, and dance research. The vision of Muvva is to create a platform and space that develops the creative qualities in a dancer, transforming them into practice through a standardized technique and comprehensive knowledge of the dance form, particularly focusing on Kuchipudi styles.
Muvva believes that dance, especially Kuchipudi dance, is a powerful form of communication when learned correctly. Every active member of Muvva embodies this philosophy, and we are committed to delivering the highest standard of learning through principles of hard work, discipline, and dedication, all fueled by a passion for dance.
Since its inception in 2003, Muvva has actively contributed to achieving these goals through classical dance classes that cater to all levels, from beginners to advanced Kuchipudi dancers. We create performance platforms, conduct workshops for knowledge enhancement, and engage in various collaborative programs with eminent foundations. These initiatives include the development of dance education in rural areas, fostering cognitive skills, improving communication, building public confidence, and most importantly, spreading awareness about Indian arts, heritage, and culture.
With a successful journey spanning 22 years, Muvva continues to strive for excellence in dance and remains dedicated to its vision, reaching out to every passionate dancer and aspiring Kuchipudi performer willing to work hard to achieve their dreams.
We proudly present our Founder and Director of Muvva, who had the distinct honor of showcasing intricate wooden panel artwork to the Honorable President of India, Smt. Draupadi Murmu, in collaboration with the esteemed team from Ms Anuradha Timbers International. This project beautifully interpreted the dance sculptures of the Tandava of Lord Shiva, inspired by ancient Indian temple art, and highlighted the artistry of Kuchipudi dancers. The presentation was part of a proposed initiative for Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, which aims to celebrate Indian culture. It was a privilege to work alongside Sri Sharat Babu Chadalavada, Sri Kiran Kumar Chadalavada, Sri Rayana Giridhara Goud.
